This is a very rare brandy made from English wine, triple distilled then matured in ex-Madeira casks for 30 months.
Working in partnership with Chafor Wine Estate just down the road from the distillery at Gawcott, near Buckingham, we have produced this stunning English Brandy. The grapes are grown by Tim Chafor in his vineyards just south of Buckingham. The wine is made on the estate using Tim’s Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes then moved to the distillery where the wine has been triple distilled on our Portuguese copper pot stills. The spirit was then left in a 55L ex-Madeira cask for 30 months before bottling. The result is an exceptionally smooth and full flavoured English brandy. Only a hundred-odd bottles in 35cl and 70cl were made, so when it is gone, it is truly gone.
Note: Released initially in June 2018, we recently found a few bottles that had become hidden during our two distillery relocations. Now dusted off and awaiting their deserved appreciation as the fabulous rare beasts they are.
