Æppel Drenc [ee-p uh l] [drengk] Anglo-Saxon n. apple drink. Crafted entirely from hand-picked, hand-pressed English apples, wild yeasts and time, distilled to optimise flavour and aroma.
Indulge in the crisp essence of our English Apple Brandy, crafted exclusively from locally sourced apples. Immerse yourself in the orchard’s bounty with each sip. Best enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or as the star ingredient in refreshing cocktails, showcasing the pure, natural flavour of English apples in every pour.
Unfortunately cannot review the AEppel Drenc itself as bought for a gift, the colour of the Apple Brandy is beautiful and golden and really hope very much I am allowed to have a glass or two! I can only review the actual purchase of the AEppel Drenc via the Wharf Distillery website. This was simple and speedy process and communication I received about delivery (fast and well packaged) was excellent and look forward to purchasing from them again.
I bought a small bottle of this at a local craft fair near Burford. I wish it had been a whole bottle. I thought that this particular cider brandy was at least the equal of any calvados I had tried. It was smooth and subtle and just the thing after dinner, believe me. So good luck to the makers, and do visit this neighbourhood again. I like the use of Old English in the name, too.
